Participants will receive intense training from an expert faculty consisting of private voice lessons, coaching sessions, and staging while preparing for performance. Parts are still available in staged productions with orchestra for Purcell’s The Fairy Queen; Mozart’s The Magic Flute and Sondheim’s Into the Woods. Opera and Musical Theater Scenes, a Cabaret Concert and Recitals are also scheduled, as well as Masterclasses, and classes in Dance/Movement, Acting, Career Development.

The Art Song Preservation Society (ASPS) presents Spring Into Song. Through a master class & recital series, and a vocal competition, ASPS plans to engage the public this upcoming spring 2015 by offering exciting events with internationally established artists in the genre of “art song” performance at The National Opera America Center, La Maison Française of NYU, and other notable performance venues in New York. Guest artists in 2015 include Dalton Baldwin, Joan Dornemann, Thomas Grubb, Carol Kimball, Mark Markham, Thomas Muraco & Virginie Verrez. FEBRUARY AUDITIONS DEADLINE FEBRUARY 13! This summer the Prelude to Performance program in addition to being TUITION FREE will be offering STIPENDS: $3000 for Major Roles and Covers and $1500-$750 for selected smaller roles. Operas for 2015 are Puccini's, Madama Butterfly and Donizetti's, La Fille du Regiment! The deadline is February 13!

Just one month until the final deadline! The JTVA Vocal Competition welcomes exceptional singing in genres from opera, oratorio and art songs, to jazz, musical theater and cabaret standards. There are no specific age, education or residency requirements. Two levels of competition based on vocal experience are offered and ALL finalists receive a cash award. Awards total nearly $20,000 and the grand prize winner will be offered an opportunity to perform with the Oakland East Bay Symphony under music director Michael Morgan. Applications will be accepted only until February 24, 2015.
