The Handel Aria Competition was created to promote the performance of Handel’s extensive vocal repertoire. The final round will take place on Friday June 7, 2019 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Mead Witter School of Music. Contestants must be 18-35 years old as of the day of the finals. Past finalists are eligible to audition, with the exception of first prize winners. Corso d'Opera offers a unique opportunity for young singers to grow and increase skills on all points of view. The residency will be held in one of most astonishing places of Tuscany, Cortona, and will be led by great and renowned artists such as Mariella Devia - Hugo De Ana - Roberto Abbado - Roberto Scandiuzzi and excellent professionals of several sectors, such as bioenergetics, body training and self-managing.
