OPERA NEO VOCAL COMPETITION 2019! Application Deadline: Friday, March 15, 2019!

The Opera NEO Vocal Competition was created to support and discover the new generation of emerging young opera singers. It will consist of three rounds: the preliminary round, will be conducted via online video submission; the semifinals and finals will be held in San Diego, California, April 26-28, 2019. 10-12 singers will be selected to come to San Diego for the semifinal round, where they will be housed free of charge for the duration of the competition. There will be 5-6 finalists selected to perform in the final round, which is open to the public. All semifinalists and finalists will have the opportunity to meet with each judge for individual feedback.

Prizes: $3,000; $2,000; $1,000; $500; $300
Judges: David Bennett (General Director, San Diego Opera); Viktoria Vizin (internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano); Braeden Harris (master voice teacher); and Peter Kozma (Artistic Director, Opera NEO)
