Carnegie Hall's SongStudio is a weeklong intensive for emerging professional vocalists happening online this January under the leadership of world-renowned soprano Renée Fleming. Designed to renew and refresh the presentation and experience of the vocal recital, SongStudio brings leading musicians and other performing artists together to mentor emerging vocalists and young artists, exploring innovative approaches to both classic and current song repertoire, and inviting new audiences to engage with the art form. TCO NEXT: Tri-Cities Opera's first national vocal competition now virtual!

Tri-Cities Opera's first national vocal competition, TCO NEXT, will encourage emerging professional singers by promoting new voices and new music. This completely online opportunity features an anonymous audio-only first round, and a focus on new music and musical theatre. Singers will compete for cash prizes with a grand prize of $3000 and a contract for a future role with Tri-Cities Opera. Early bird deadline: August 1, 2020.

Summer Festival Cancelled? Join Opera Project Columbus's VIVA Festival 2020

Was your summer festival cancelled? Join us for the VIVA Festival! The Virtual Intensive Vocal Academy presented by Opera Project Columbus provides an opportunity for opera singers continue to work on their craft remotely with internationally-renowned faculty. These five classes will address far more than singing, focusing on practical aspects of a singer's career. The instructors—Ed Bak, Wendy Taucher, Giuseppe Filianoti, Devon Cass, and Emilio Pons—will give each give an hour-long class on topics such as the music of language, creating characters, details of Italian text and recitative, visual presentation, and tricks for auditioning in Europe. The Eurasia Festival Virtual Opera Institute 2020: deadline May 29

The Eurasia Festival Virtual Opera Institute will offer singers from all over the world a unique opportunity to study roles from Tchaikovsky’s operas.   Auditions are NOT required. Please submit a form of interest.   The study program includes:   ·Group diction classes via Zoom ·Individual coachings via Zoom (Please note: All piano accompaniment will be pre-recorded and sent to singers for use during coachings) ·Total Fee: $500 per session (4 weeks) ·Optional: Post COVID-19, run through your role with Maestro Sydykov at Eurasia Cultural Center in NYC. This option is good through May 2021 and is contingent on health and travel regulations.    Role study sessions and repertoire:   Eugene Onegin - June 3-28; Iolanta - July 1-26; Pique Dame - August 5-30.
