DEADLINE JUST TWO WEEKS AWAY! The 8th annual JTVA Vocal Competition is moving online this year! We welcome exceptional singers in genres from opera, oratorio and art songs, to jazz, musical theater and cabaret standards. There are no specific age, education or residency requirements. Two levels of competition based on vocal experience are offered and ALL finalists receive a cash award. Awards total $50,000, as well as soloist performance opportunities with the Oakland Symphony and a music festival in Provence, France. Applications will be accepted only until February 13, 2021.

The Dutch National Opera Academy is a two-year master program for highly talented young opera singers focusing on the integration of singing and acting. DNOA graduates receive a Master of Music diploma and are thoroughly trained to be creative singing actors who are fully committed in their work and preparation for the many challenges of the professional field. DNOA is a partnership of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. 

We are excited to announce Opera en Castellano´s First International Voice Competition Online. This competition was created with the purpsoe of innovating and inspiring the adaptation and performance of opera in the Spanish language for the Spanish speaking world community. It is open to professional singers, artists and enthuasiasts of any nationality who have reached the age of 18. Juilliard's Mary Birnbaum offers an online class for Opera and Musical Theater professionals who want to transcend technique and re-ignite their sense of play while singing.   Utilizing various aspects of the movement pedagogy developed by French physical theater master Jacques Lecoq this affordable workshop is designed especially for the virtual classroom in conjunction with New York's Movement Theater Studio. Sessions begin February 27th.

Aquilon Music Festival, located in picturesque Oregon wine country, is now accepting applications for the 2021 season. Aquilon will pre-premiere OURLAND, a new opera composed by Paul Davies with libretto by Daniel Helfgot. Set in a dystopian state, the plot centers on intolerance towards the ‘other’, the foreigner, the different, and minorities. It outlines the life and death consequences of bigotry and xenophobia. Apply by February 1st, 2021. At Aquilon Music Festival we are committed to abiding by all federal, state, and county public health guidelines. The safety of our participants, faculty and audience is our number one priority. With this in mind, the reopening of the festival will depend entirely on the state of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Online Festival Competition - $9,000 in prizes available Progressive Musicians is dedicated to helping musicians of all ages acheive there goals and advance artistically. Our online festival competition is the perfect opportunity for musicians of all ages to improve there performance/audition skills, get evaluations from professional musicians, gain performance experience, and win prize money. Harold Haugh Light Opera Video Contest:  For 2021, due to the pandemic, the Competition will be replaced by the Light Opera Video Contest. Singers are invited to submit an original video, in which they perform a light opera number. It's a competition without an entry fee, and no travel expenses! Singers should concentrate on the ENTERTAINMENT aspect of the video, not just singing well. Include staging in your performance, and be creative. Judges look for expression, appropriate emotion and entertaining physicality. The most entertaining videos submitted will receive a cash award.
