The UVAA Summer Opera Festival: Build your performing resume, train with world class artists, and expand your musical network in a gorgeous mountain setting. One of the major events, Annual Vocal Competition, will be hosted by The Source OC in Orange County, CA. Ten (10) aspiring and emerging finalists will compete with an orchestra. The main goal of the competition is to find exceptional musicians and allow them to showcase their unique talents. For three weeks this summer, aspiring young opera singers from around the world will come together at the Valencia campus to participate in the Boston Conservatory Opera Intensive at Valencia. Sponsored by Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Berklee College of Music's campus in Valencia, this unique program offers talented singers the opportunity to hone their technical skills with world-class faculty, gain valuable performance experience in a variety of settings, learn how to build and maintain a career in opera, and connect with industry professionals.
Since 2014 Ensemble OrQuesta have run high-quality Opera Academies four times a year in the UK. Under the guidance of multi-skilled professionals led by Marcio da Silva and Stephanie Gurga, young singers benefit from rigorous tuition and training with coaching in technique, language, style, stagecraft, and movement. The programme culminates in two fully staged public performances accompanied by a professional ensemble. Several productions starring EO alumni have grown from these academies, receiving critical acclaim in fringe venues such as the Grimeborn Opera Festival, Arcola Theatre, and The Cockpit.
