Welcome to the International Opera Masterclass in the Czech Republic! The masterclass will be held in Ceske Budejovice from the 10th to the 17th of July of 2020. The curriculum is focused on improving vocal techniques featured in classical and romantic styles. Participants will work with leading opera singers from a diverse set of prestigious operas ranging from the National Theatre in Prague, the Mariinsky Theatre of St. Petersburg to the New York Metropolitan Opera. All rehearsals and the final concert with the professional orchestra will be video recorded. Operas by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Dvorak, and Smetana are listed in the repertoire. More here. The Cooper-Bing International Vocal Competition is open to professional and pre-professional singers who have completed, or are engaged in completing, a musical education suitable for the operatic stage. The Halifax Summer Opera Festival is Canada's largest summer opera festival and educational workshop. We're a friendly, supportive program that focuses on empowering young artists with practical stage experience. We are now entering our second round of casting. This is a two-year program designed for singers to transition from academia to a national and/or international performing career.
