HSOF marks our 17th season with a 4-week program for singers wishing to focus on performance skills in a supportive and artist-centred environment.Join us in Halifax, Canada in the summer of 2024 and learn or polish stagecraft, language skills, acting and interpretation in the context of performing a role in The Consul or Giulio Cesare in Egitto. We'll support your work with Alexander Technique, coachings and extra concerts to help you get to the next stage in your journey and connect or reconnect you to the passion of performance. Utah Valley Operafest (formerly UVAA Summer Opera Festival) is dedicated to discovering operatic talent and transforming voices through deep role-study, ample time with orchestra, and extensive vocal training. Each artist selected will receive a full-tuition fellowship. Participants will take the stage in multiple touring performances of Gounod's Roméo et Juliette, conducted by Nicolas Giusti and directed by Marc Verzatt. As artistic director, Deborah Voigt will be directing scenes at our annual gala and overseeing casting and vocal training. Training will include masterclasses with Jay Hunter Morris, coaching with Jean Anderson, and lessons with David Jones, Marina Costa-Jackson, and Isaac Hurtado. Live and online auditions available.

The 9th annual German vocal competition seeks to offer support to rising professional singers. Deadline to apply for Opera North's 2024 Resident Artist Program approaching! The application deadlines vary by audition location: October 31 (Dallas and Chicago auditions), November 7 (Virtual auditions); November 10 (New York City auditions). Our season this year offers three imaginative productions with orchestra, including Offenbach's Orphée aux enfers (Orpheus in the Underworld), Verdi's Rigoletto and Sondheim's Into the Woods at our outdoor home, the stunning Blow-Me-Down Farm on the banks of the Connecticut River. These productions feature our Resident Artists in all roles whenever possible. We look forward to hearing you in an audition for the coming season!
Nashville Opera is accepting applications for the 2025 Mary Ragland Emerging Artists. Four singers and one pianist will be selected for this paid 12-week opportunity. Emerging Artists will perform roles in the winter mainstage production of Gilbert & Sullivan's H.M.S. Pinafore, be featured soloists at the company's black-tie gala, headline the 2025 Nashville Opera On Tour education program, and cover roles in the season's closing production, Lucia di Lammermoor. Emerging artists will also receive weekly coaching sessions and get the chance to work with an esteemed clinician for a featured masterclass, all included in the program.
