Audition Application for the 2025 Festival Season with the Ohio Light Opera are Monday, October 21st. For 45 seasons, The Ohio Light Opera has dedicated itself to the exploration and production of the best of traditional operetta and musical theater. Our recently announced 2025 season includes: Carousel (Rogers and Hammerstein, 1945), Brigadoon (Lerner and Loewe, 1947), Tip-Toes (Gershwin, 1925), Patience (Gilbert and Sullivan, 1881), Bittersweet (Noël Coward, 1929), and The Cousin from Batavia (Eduard Künneke, 1921). Auditions are available either in-person or virtually and OLO offers both professional and young artist contracts. All offers are paid and include housing for the duration of the contract.

Four singers and one pianist will be selected for this paid 12 to 15-week (depending on position) opportunity. Emerging Artists will perform comprimario and lead roles in the mainstage season productions of Jason Powell’s Fortuna the Time Bender vs. The Schoolgirls of Doom (Oct. 26-Nov. 17 2025), and Rossini’s The Barber of Seville (Mar. 28-Apr. 19 2026), along with acting as featured soloists at the company's black-tie gala, and will headline the 2026 Nashville Opera On Tour education program (Jan. 25-Mar. 27, 2026).

USUO proudly supports Resident Artist singers and pianists with an integral step between graduate studies and a career. Participants spend nine months from September to May developing professional skills through mainstage performances with USUO, expert coachings, workshops, and masterclass sessions. The USUO Resident Artists are the primary, in-person ambassadors for opera and artistry in many of our local communities, but most particularly among Utah’s K-12 schools. Each individual should expect to share their talent with USUO’s staff, board, and donors as well as Utah’s most diverse audiences as they travel around our beautiful state.

New York Dramatic Voices is excited to announce our 2025 Winter Intensive. Apply now to the National Opera Association's Carolyn Bailey Argento Vocal Competition, the finals of which will be held in Savannah, GA, on January 8, 2025. All selected finalists will receive $400 travel stipends to attend the competition! Over $15,000 in cash prizes will be awarded in two divisions: Scholarship (ages 18-24) and Artist (ages 25-40). This year, the Carolyn Bailey Argento Fellowship for Vocal Performance (up to $50,000 per year for graduate study) will also be awarded, providing full tuition plus living expenses for the recipient.
