Opera North is now accepting applications for its Summer 2020 Resident Artist Program. The 2020 season includes productions of The Magic Flute (sung in English) and Turandot, along with concerts of opera arias and musical theater selections with orchestra. Performances take place at Lebanon Opera House as well as Blow-Me-Down Farm, the site of Opera North's new park for the arts developed in conjunction with the National Park Service. Resident Artists sing and/or cover leading and supporting roles in the 2020 season's productions alongside leading professionals in the field, and are featured in recitals, dinner cruises on Lake Sunapee, donor events, and more!

Finger Lakes Opera is pleased to announce auditions for the Tomita Young Artist program as part of Finger Lakes Opera’s 2020 festival season. Launched in 2017 by Artistic Director Gerard Floriano and named in honor of a pacesetting endowment gift, this highly selective, comprehensive training program provides participants with an individualized and participant-centered approach to developing talented singers and collaborative pianists in operatic career preparation. The Tomita Young Artist program offers up to 12 positions each year. Trainees will earn weekly stipends of $250 as well as accommodations while in residence.

The Verbier Festival Academy’s Atelier Lyrique is unique among voice programmes in Europe. Singers are accepted for either or both of the Atelier’s Opera and/or Song Programmes. They are mentored by living legends of opera and art song performance, among them in 2020 are Brigitte Fassbaender, Barbara Frittoli and Thomas Quasthoff. Singers also work with and are coached by collaborative pianists and vocal coaches Caroline Dowdle and James Baillieu, who lead the Opera and Song Programmes respectively. During their three weeks in Verbier, singers prepare for song recital performances and a semi-staged opera performance with orchestra. The featured opera in 2020 is Puccini's La Bohème.
