New York Dramatic Voices is excited to announce our 2022 Summer Intensive. Each artist will work one-on-one with Jane Eaglen (Metropolitan Opera), Ken Benson (Ken Benson Artists), Anthony Laciura (Metropolitan Opera, HBO, Netflix), Matthew Lobaugh (WNO, LA Opera), Robert Mollicone (San Francisco Opera), and Christin Byrdsong (HBO, Amazon); culminating in a staged public performance in the heart of Manhattan. This Winter's repertoire will be Götterdämmerung Prelude (entire role for each Norn), La Gioconda Act 2, and Il Trovatore Act 4. DEADLINE JUST TWO WEEKS AWAY! The 9th annual JTVA Vocal Competition returns to the stage, in-person for the first time since 2019, and in an exciting new venue in San Francisco! We welcome exceptional singers in genres from opera, oratorio and art songs, to jazz, musical theater and cabaret standards. There are no specific age, education or residency requirements. The Schmidt Vocal Institute (SVI) nurtures and mentors the development of talented high school singers who wish to pursue studies in music performance or education. The curriculum focuses on training singers to have a healthy technique, improved musicianship, and outstanding performance skills.   2022 Participants of SVI will receive: Master Classes or private coachings with distinguished guest faculty William Burden (Juilliard School/Mannes School of Music), Kayo Iwama (Bard Conservatory), and Dr. Katherine Jolly (Oberlin Conservatory); Private voice lessons and coachings with SVI Resident Faculty; Courses in Acting, Lyric Diction, Vocal Health, Alexander Technique,  & more; Two final public performances; Ticket to Cincinnati Opera's La Bohème.

The Jensen Foundation supports America’s most promising young opera professionals with its annual Vocal Competition. Singers compete for their share of $40,000 in awards, including a $15,000 First Place award. The 2022 competition takes place at the Baruch Performing Arts Center in New York City May 16-21. The singing environment is well-organized and supportive, with professional accompanists and preliminary judges. Twelve finalists are chosen to perform before the Finals Judges who are distinguished in the world of opera. After the competition, finalists may request feedback from the judges. The international Belcanto Academy summer course 2022!
