Only one more week to audition for NextGen National! -Submit a 32-bar cut of an American popular song (Broadway, Standard, Pop, Jazz, Gospel, etc) written before 1970. -The piece must not be found in the Singer's Musical Theater Anthology for your voice type. -Use an accompaniment or karaoke track from YouTube or another source. -You must submit a video of yourself singing. $2,000 for 1st place winners;   $1,000 for 2nd place winners.  Live Finals at Lincoln Center in NYC, all expenses paid! For 43 seasons, The Ohio Light Opera has dedicated itself to the exploration and production of the best of traditional operetta and musical theater. This includes the complete Gilbert and Sullivan repertoire, as well as the recognized treasures from the Viennese, French, Hungarian, German, and American repertoire. The 30 performing artists who make up the vocal ensemble are chosen for their abilities to perform and work at the highest level in all disciplines demanded by the company’s specialized repertoire.  Our 2023 audition process includes BOTH in-person and virtual audition opportunities.  The application deadline for both options is October 23rd.

The Verbier Festival Academy’s Atelier Lyrique is unique among voice programmes in Europe and its alumni are among some of today’s most sought after young performers. Applications are accepted until 4 November 2022 for the Atelier Lyrique's next session, which will take place from 9 to 31 July 2023. Singers are accepted for either or both of the Atelier’s Opera and/or Song Programmes. The featured opera for 2023 is Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress, conducted by James Gaffigan. Faculty confirmed so far for 2022 includes James Baillieu, Tim Carroll, Caroline Dowdle, James Garnon, Véronique Gens, Thomas Hampson, Ken Noda and Thomas Quasthoff.

Apply now to the National Opera Association's Carolyn Bailey Argento Vocal Competition, the finals of which will be held in Houston, TX, on January 7, 2023.  All selected finalists will receive $400 travel stipends to attend the competition! Over $15,000 in cash prizes will be awarded in two divisions: Scholarship (ages 18-24) and Artist (ages 25-40). Application deadline is October 15. Join Opera Project Columbus' Opera Academy as they present central Ohio’s only academy devoted to learning how to play in an opera orchestra and the finer points of playing in a pit orchestra. New this session is a voice division to enhance your operatic vocal skills. This program is designed for high school and college students (and exceptional middle school students). The Opera Naples Resident Artist Program provides invaluable training and performance opportunities to emerging professionals in the beautiful setting of Naples, FL.  In the 2022-23 season, Resident Artists will perform principal and secondary roles in Romeo et Juliette, Carmen, Frida, and H.M.S. Looking for professional Chorus for the Opera Cavalleria Rusticana. More interested in knowing if you’ve sung the chorus with another company and/or would like to hear you sing just a little bit acappella. If you’re able to provide an accompanist in the zoom Audition that is perfectly acceptable. Auditions by zoom or FaceTime.
