A singing competition unlike any other, in which acting counts as much as vocal talent. The Lotte Lenya Competition welcomes talented singer/actors to show they can "do it all" by presenting four contrasting theatrical songs and arias. To celebrate the Competition's 25th year, top prize is now $25,000. Opera Lucca is a summer festival for singers, pianists, and composers. It will be held at the Lucca Italian School in the summer of 2023, June 10th through July 9th. This season we are casting roles in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi as well as in scenes from Le nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, La bohème, La Traviata, and other bel canto, baroque, and dramatic repertoire. We specialize in teaching Italian opera through a focus on language immersion and expressive delivery of poetry. Our distinguished faculty are experts in operatic Italian. Study and perform in the heart of Oregon's wine country! This summer, Aquilon Music Festival will stage Mozart's Don Giovanni. We are looking for two casts+covers. Apply by January 1. The world-famous summer program for opera singers is back! "Si parla, si canta!"’s 14th edition will take place on the breathtaking shores of Lake Como, and boasts an incomparable faculty: Patrizia Ciofi, Barbara Frittoli, Kim Josephson, Chris Merritt, Janet Perry, Federico Sacchi, Gabriella Sborgi, Rainer Armbrust, Damiano Cerutti, Stefano Giannini, Brett Hodgdon and Hemdi Kfir. Participants will receive an intensive 76 hours of Italian language class with mother-tongue teachers specialized in opera singers. Coachings focus on pre-assigned operatic scenes as well as on arias and art songs of their choosing. Six public masterclasses and four concerts will engage all students in an intense performing activity in several enchanting venues.

Final reminder! Applications for Utah Vocal Arts Academy’s 12th Summer Opera Festival are due January 4th, 2023. UVAA is a training program for singers preparing for professional careers on the stage. This summer 2023, singers will perform in fully-staged productions of Così fan Tutte, Cendrillon and a semi-staged production of Serse.
