Opera Lucca is a summer festival for singers, pianists, and composers. It will be held at the Lucca Italian School in the summer of 2023, June 10th through July 9th. This season we are casting roles in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi as well as in scenes from Le nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, La bohème, La Traviata, and other bel canto, baroque, and dramatic repertoire. We specialize in teaching Italian opera through a focus on language immersion and expressive delivery of poetry. Our distinguished faculty are experts in operatic Italian. Host family stays are available to further improve conversational Italian beyond language classes. Applications are due February 5th, but early applications are strongly encouraged. The Cooper-Bing Competition is an internationally recognized vocal competition that has celebrated and supported emerging young artists in opera for the past 39 years. Dubbed the ”Olympics of Opera”, the competition encourages talent, creates artistic opportunity, and helps welcome the next generation into the professional opera community. Study and perform in the heart of Oregon's wine country! This summer, Aquilon Music Festival will stage Mozart's Don Giovanni.  We are looking for two casts+covers. Apply by January 1. Our program is geared toward students ready for advanced studies in stagecraft, vocal technique, movement, and diction.  All young artists receive private instruction from well-known voice teachers, language and style coaches, as well as group instruction in acting, dance, and audition techniques. The world-famous summer program for opera singers is back! "Si parla, si canta!"’s 14th edition will take place on the breathtaking shores of Lake Como, and boasts an incomparable faculty: Patrizia Ciofi, Barbara Frittoli, Kim Josephson, Chris Merritt, Janet Perry, Federico Sacchi, Gabriella Sborgi, Rainer Armbrust, Damiano Cerutti, Stefano Giannini, Brett Hodgdon and Hemdi Kfir. Participants will receive an intensive 76 hours of Italian language class with mother-tongue teachers specialized in opera singers.  Coachings focus on pre-assigned operatic scenes as well as on arias and art songs of their choosing.   Six public masterclasses and four concerts will engage all students in an intense performing activity in several enchanting venues.

Final reminder! Applications for Utah Vocal Arts Academy’s 12th Summer Opera Festival are due January 4th, 2023. UVAA is a training program for singers preparing for professional careers on the stage. This summer 2023, singers will perform in fully-staged productions of  Così fan Tutte, Cendrillon and a semi-staged production of Serse. Singers will not only sing full roles, but they will also receive regular coachings, enjoy acting classes, and work in masterclasses with Deborah Voigt and Frank Lopardo, among others. The International Meistersinger Akademie (IMA) in Neumarkt i.d.OPf. offers emerging artists an exceptional environment of excellence in the study of opera and Lied. Our prestigious staff and guest professors bring their expertise to the vocal and interpretive development of the young professional. The opening opera gala and an open-air concert are planned with the Nuremburg Symphony Orchestra. A Liederabend will be recorded by the Bavarian Radio and Craig Terry will lead a Cabaret concert.
