The most distinguished element of the Bologna International Opera Academy is that singers have the opportunity to be heard by and signed with opera industry professionals. Numerous artists from BIOA received professional contracts with opera houses and agencies. New for 2021: up to five young collaborative pianists to participate in the program under the guidance of Nicoletta Conti and Danielle Orlando to accompany our singers and to perform at the final concerts.

Classic Lyric Arts 2021: apply today!

Classic Lyric Arts 2021 features two intensive and immersive summer programs held in New Lebanon, NY. Participants receive daily coachings, rehearsals, and language classes with our esteemed European and American faculty. Session I - French Repertoire: 6/28 - 7/12 is dedicated to exploring the traditions and nuances of singing French opera and mélodie. Session II - Italian Repertoire: 7/26 - 8/9 develops skills of bel canto repertoire: lyric diction, phrasing, style, dramatic presentation, and the musical elements of the Italian language. Approximately 18 singers and 4 pianists will be accepted to each session. Deadline March 15: Druid City Opera Workshop 2021

The application is free and easy - resume, headshot, and two recordings.  Ten years of in-person training has prepared the Druid City Opera Workshop faculty exceptionally well for an exciting virtual learning and performance experience. Join us, May 16-21 on Zoom, for a week of singing and sharing and expanding your network. The week will include classes in acting, movement, yoga, improvisation, and the business of singing, in addition to one-on-one virtual dramatic and musical coachings.  The experience will end with an online aria concert - open to all - on Friday evening, May 21.

The 8th annual JTVA Vocal Competition (online): deadline two weeks away!

DEADLINE JUST TWO WEEKS AWAY! The 8th annual JTVA Vocal Competition is moving online this year! We welcome exceptional singers in genres from opera, oratorio and art songs, to jazz, musical theater and cabaret standards. There are no specific age, education or residency requirements. Two levels of competition based on vocal experience are offered and ALL finalists receive a cash award. Awards total $50,000, as well as soloist performance opportunities with the Oakland Symphony and a music festival in Provence, France. Applications will be accepted only until February 13, 2021.

Deadline February 5: Dutch National Opera Academy 21-23!

The Dutch National Opera Academy is a two-year master program for highly talented young opera singers focusing on the integration of singing and acting. DNOA graduates receive a Master of Music diploma and are thoroughly trained to be creative singing actors who are fully committed in their work and preparation for the many challenges of the professional field. DNOA is a partnership of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.

Opera en Castellano´s First International Voice Competition Online: Deadline 2/7
