Classic Lyric Arts 2021: apply today!
Classic Lyric Arts 2021 features two intensive and immersive summer programs held in New Lebanon, NY. Participants receive daily coachings, rehearsals, and language classes with our esteemed European and American faculty.
Session I - French Repertoire: 6/28 - 7/12 is dedicated to exploring the traditions and nuances of singing French opera and mélodie.
Session II - Italian Repertoire: 7/26 - 8/9 develops skills of bel canto repertoire: lyric diction, phrasing, style, dramatic presentation, and the musical elements of the Italian language.
PROGRAM COMPONENTS
- Daily individual coachings with one of our vocal coaches
- Individual language tutoring sessions with our language coach
- Group language courses adjusted to the level of participants
- Masterclasses with visiting artists
- Performances of arias, songs, and ensembles in each of our concerts
- Excursions to nearby musical performances and cultural landmarks
- Cultural gatherings with fellow artists to experience French and Italian culture
- Repertoire covering a wide range of French and Italian vocal repertoire
Approximately 18 singers and 4 pianists will be accepted to each session.
Our decision to move the CLA programs from Europe to the US in 2021 was based on a commitment to assuring the safety of our students, faculty and audience members.
