Canterbury Concerts is partnering with the Academia Vocale di Lorenzo Malfatti in Lucca, Italy, to award a promising young singer with a guaranteed spot in the month-long vocal and Italian language summer training program, as well as a full-tuition scholarship, a prize totaling near $10k USD.  Faculty of the highest quality will work with you to help you improve your craft.   Native speakers will teach you Italian in small groups.   Away from the pressures of college and career, you can truly focus on improving your skills.   We are proud to offer: 1.     2 sixty-minute voice lessons per week (one with each voice faculty member) 2.     2 thirty minute coachings per week 3.     Italian language classes five days a week 4.     Studio voice class 5.     Private dramatic coachings 6.     Group acting classes Concerts in and around Lucca will showcase your progress and give you the unforgettable experience of singing in Italian to an Italian audience. The Jensen Foundation supports America’s most promising young opera professionals with its annual Vocal Competition. Singers compete for their share of $40,000 in awards, including a $15,000 First Place award. The 2023 competition takes place at the Baruch Performing Arts Center in New York City May 8-13. The singing environment is well-organized and supportive, with professional accompanists and preliminary judges. Twelve finalists are chosen to perform before the Finals Judges who are distinguished in the world of opera. After the competition, finalists may request feedback from the judges.
