Connecticut Lyric Opera is accepting applications for the 2nd season of their summer program in Italy, the Greve Opera Academy. Rescheduled auditions will be held on March 14 in NYC; links to recordings may be submitted, but live auditions are strongly encouraged. This 4 week program running from June 11 - July 8 is designed for emerging professional artists and university level singers providing the opportunity to perform in two fully staged productions with orchestra - LA BOHEME and DON GIOVANNI. Additional instruction in Italian, professional development, acting and stagecraft are included along with an international vocal competition, while living in Greve-in-Chianti in the heart of Tuscany provides its own rewarding experiences. Respiro Opera NYC June 17-26, 2016 is an intensive 10 day training program for young singers designed to aid in their artistic development between student and young professional. The program provides singers with the opportunity to explore breath, body alignment, text analysis and musical style. Participants in Respiro Opera’s program will work with the basic stagecraft skills required for today’s opera performer. Classes will be offered in breath for the operatic voice, hands-on Alexander Technique, Body Mapping, and yoga for singers.
