Deadline March 12: Greve Opera Academy 2016!

After an incredible inaugural program in 2015, Connecticut Lyric Opera and the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra are pleased to announce the second season of their joint summer program in Italy, the Greve Opera Academy.
 
Live auditions for the program will be held on March 14 in New York City. To reserve an audition slot, please fill out the Online Application at http://grevefestival.org/application/.  Links to live recordings may be submitted with the Online  if unable to attend NYC auditions, but live auditions are strongly encouraged.
 
A unique four week program running from June 11 until July 8 that is designed for emerging professional artists and university level singers, the Greve Opera Academy provides participants the opportunity to perform in two fully staged productions with orchestra - La Boheme and Don Giovanni. Instruction in Italian language and diction, professional development (auditioning, wellness, marketing and networking), acting and stagecraft are the primary courses of study, but living and learning in the heart of Tuscany provides its own rewarding experience with trips to take in the culture and history of nearby Florence and Siena among the excursions on rest days.
 
The Academy is part of the Greve Opera Academy and Music Festival in Greve-in-Chianti, which includes professional and student performances of opera and chamber music throughout the Chianti region. An international vocal competition is also part of the program with prizes including a contract to perform with CLO in 2016/17 - several attendees from last year's program performed in CLO's professional production of Le Nozze di Figaro this fall!
