Application deadline February 1, 2018. Fee $30. Late application deadline February 15, 2018. Fee $50. The Lyndon Woodside Oratorio-Solo Competition: Semifinals April 7, 2018, NYC; Finals Concert 4/14/18 in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. In 1977 the Oratorio Society of New York inaugurated an annual Solo Competition designed to encourage the art of oratorio singing and to give talented young singers an opportunity to advance their careers. The Competition has become international in scope and well-known in the music world and is the only major competition to focus exclusively on oratorio singing. $22,000 in cash prizes. Age Limit 40 years – must be born after Jan. 1, 1978. Open to singers who are early in their oratorio career.

Oberlin in Italy 2018: rolling admissions, roles still available!

Young artists from top conservatories and schools of music in the United States and abroad are chosen to come together in the heart of Tuscany for an intensive four-week program that combines language and musical study with Italian cultural immersion. Program participants work closely with a faculty of internationally distinguished artists, teachers, coaches, conductors, and stage directors, and may earn up to six Oberlin College credits with successful course completion. Please note: casting has begun for this program. Contact the administrator if you would like specifics on filled roles. Applications to be considered on a rolling basis through the final deadline.

Two weeks left to apply to the 2018 Lotte Lenya Competition! 2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the Lotte Lenya Competition! Over the last twenty years, the LLC has grown from a small contest exclusively for students of the Eastman School of Music to one of the widest-reaching international vocal competitions. Singer/actors ages 19-32 from all over the world will compete for top prizes of $20,000, $15,000, and $10,000. Additional awards range from $500 to $5,000, including the Kurt Weill Award of $5,000 for an outstanding performance of two contrasting selections by Kurt Weill.
