Le Nozze di Figaro February 6 – March 7, 2018. Now in our 11th year, Lyric Opera Studio Weimar is a comprehensive opera training program for emerging professional singers considering a career in Europe, with a focus on the German theater system. Participants will sing a full role in Le Nozze di Figaro with chamber orchestra. We offer intensive training in singing, movement, rehearsal process and role study, master classes, individual lessons, stagecraft instruction, and daily German language training. The Glyndebourne Opera Cup - a new international competition for opera singers. Deadline for applications: 24 November. The Glyndebourne Opera Cup aims to discover and spotlight the best young singers from around the world. The inaugural competition will focus on Mozart and is open to singers aged between 21 and 28 who are in the early stages of their professional career and ready to perform on the opera stage. The top prize is £15,000 plus a guaranteed role at one of the international opera houses represented on the jury. The competition will be broadcast on Sky Arts as part of a dedicated TV series. The Canadian Vocal Arts Institute is announcing auditions for the 15th voice and opera summer program on November 17-19. CVAI summer program is held in Montréal, from July 23 to August 11, 2018, at the Université de Montréal. ICAV is Co directed by Metropolitan Opera Coach Joan Dornemann and MET conductor Paul Nadler. The Canadian Vocal Arts Institute is a three week intensive program providing private voice lessons and coaching, acting, language and diction and opportunities to perform in the 20 public concerts. Designed for a small cohort of 8 singers and 4 pianists, this program is devoted to the study and performance of Art Song.
