For over 40 seasons, The Ohio Light Opera has dedicated itself to the exploration and production of the best of traditional operetta and musical theater. This includes the complete Gilbert and Sullivan repertoire, as well as the recognized treasures from the Viennese, French, Hungarian, German, and American repertoire. The 40 performing artists who make up the vocal ensemble are chosen for their abilities to perform and work at the highest level in all disciplines demanded by the company’s specialized repertoire. The Saengerbund Awards seek to support rising professional artists and to encourage the study and performance of German vocal repertoire. Applications for Pittsburgh Festival Opera's newly restructured Young Artists Program are now OPEN! The Young Artists Program is no longer a tuition-based program. Instead, singers are selected through national auditions to be invited to participate in the Pittsburgh Festival Opera summer season and paid a stipend and provided housing for the festival’s duration. The variety of nurturing experiences, an intensified performance period, and exposure to professional artists in the field allows YAPs to focus on education through performance. Young Artists will perform and cover appropriate roles in all mainstage productions.
Take center stage in your own concert or production as Opera on the North Shore showcases talents from around the world; offering soloists & companies a unique platform to introduce themselves to new audiences! The festival takes place in Peabody (MA) May 28-31, 2020, with an opening Gala May 28 followed by three full days of performances across three venues. Soloists and companies are invited to apply to perform during the festival, which is also an opportunity to network with other artists and professionals from around the world. Technical and video support (including recording and professional live streaming) are provided. Festival musicians, as well as an extended roster of local musicians/conductors, are also available to performers.

Opera North is now accepting applications for its Summer 2020 Resident Artist Program. The 2020 season includes productions of The Magic Flute (sung in English) and Turandot, along with concerts of opera arias and musical theater selections with orchestra. Performances take place at Lebanon Opera House as well as Blow-Me-Down Farm, the site of Opera North's new park for the arts developed in conjunction with the National Park Service. Resident Artists sing and/or cover leading and supporting roles in the 2020 season's productions alongside leading professionals in the field, and are featured in recitals, dinner cruises on Lake Sunapee, donor events, and more!

Finger Lakes Opera is pleased to announce auditions for the Tomita Young Artist program as part of Finger Lakes Opera’s 2020 festival season. Launched in 2017 by Artistic Director Gerard Floriano and named in honor of a pacesetting endowment gift, this highly selective, comprehensive training program provides participants with an individualized and participant-centered approach to developing talented singers and collaborative pianists in operatic career preparation. The Tomita Young Artist program offers up to 12 positions each year. Trainees will earn weekly stipends of $250 as well as accommodations while in residence.
