The goal of the Miami Opera Institute is to provide every singer with the opportunity to study and perform a role in a full opera production with orchestra. Participants receive vocal lessons, masterclasses and coachings by the festival's faculty in order to prepare them for their upcoming performances. In conjunction with the Vocal and Coaching Staff, participants will have the opportunity to work under World Renowned Conductors and Stage Directors in a professional environment during Stagings, Sitz Probes, Orchestral Techs and Performances. 2015 Productions will include Mozart-Don Giovanni, Britten- Albert Herring, Massenet- Cendrillon, and Humperdink- Hansel and Gretel. For singers and pianists in residence in Florence, Italy: the opportunity to immerse oneself in the study of Bel Canto, a style of singing and playing rich in vocal and orchestral traditions handed down from generation to generation. The International Young Artists Project is a month-long intensive (June 20-July19) based in Monte San Savino, Italy, that explores opera, musical theater and art song. Pucciniʼs SUOR ANGELICA and Rossiniʼs IL BARBIÈRE DI SIVIGLIA will be presented with orchestra under the baton of Maestro Federico Bardazzi of the Maggio Musicale in Florence. Now in its eighth year, Lyric Opera Studio Weimar (LOSW) will present seven performances of Nicolai’s Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor in Theater Rudolstadt’s 2015 mainstage season. This is a new production – with professionally designed sets and costumes created especially for LOSW. Participants will sing a full role in multiple performances, accompanied by the Thüringer Symphoniker Saalfeld-Rudolstadt, conducted by Maestro Oliver Weder, with stage direction by LOSW General Director Damon Nestor Ploumis.
