The Operavore blog at WQXR recently featured a cute piece on the favorite books of few opera singers and conductors, and we thought it would be fun to hear what's on your summer reading list. I'm a big fan of listening to audio books and just finished Wilkie Collins' "The Woman in White," suggested to be the first English crime novel written in the 1860s. It was an entertaining listen and even contained several mentions of opera, so I recommend it, particularly if Victorian melodrama appeals.
