EARLY BIRD SPECIAL DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 27!
Varna International is excited to announce that our application for vocalists, choral singers, instrumentalists, conductors, & collaborative pianists for the 2025 Varna International Music Academy (VIMA) South Carolina and Europe is launched on our website. Our program offers so many options and wonderful opportunities for all musicians. We even have a Youth Program for younger vocalists & instrumentalists to participate as well! Vocalists:
- Perform in fully staged opera & musical theater productions with orchestra
- Perform in oratorio productions with orchestra
- Sing under the baton of Maestro Gregory Buchalter from the Metropolitan Opera
- Weekly private voice lessons with Metropolitan Opera singers
- Weekly coaching sessions with our expert opera and musical theater coaches
Choral Singers:
- Perform in the chorus in oratorio productions with orchestra
- Perform in the ensembles of fully staged opera & musical theater productions
- Sing under the baton of Maestro Gregory Buchalter from the Metropolitan Opera
- Weekly private voice lessons with Metropolitan Opera singers
Instrumentalists:
- Perform with the Festival Orchestra with internationally recognized artists from prestigious US orchestras and renowned educational institutions under the baton of Maestro Gregory Buchalter from the Metropolitan Opera
- Perform with and learn from World-Renowned violinist, Ilya Kaler (VIMA SC only)
- Participate in two string masterclasses with Ilya Kaler and Levon Ambartsumian (VIMA SC only)
- Private lessons with a master teacher
Conductors:
- Only 3-4 conductors total will be accepted into this program
- Weekly group conducting sessions with Maestro Gregory Buchalter from the Metropolitan Opera
- Conduct a string ensemble in performance
- Video recordings of your podium time
Collaborative Pianists:
- Only 5-6 pianists total will be accepted into this program
- Assignment of an opera act, musical theater act, and/or oratorio movement to rehearse with VIMA participants under supervision of the master coaches & pianists
- Participate in vocal coachings with the master opera and musical theater coaches
- Private piano lessons with a master piano faculty member
