Every year the GSA Bel Canto summer school in Castiglione della Pescaia, Tuscany, offers up to twelve young singers a fully-funded, three-week immersion in Italian opera singing, with a focus on language, style and technique in the 19th and early 20th century Italian repertoire. The full immersion in “bel canto” music and the Italian way of life that the Georg Solti Accademia provides gives its students a unique experience, with a lasting impact on their future careers. 

Our alumni include some of today's most accomplished young singers, including Freddie de Tommaso and Hera Hyesang Park. Many of our students have already gone on to impressive professional careers with appearances at venues such as the Metropolitan Opera, Glyndebourne Opera, Royal Opera House, Washington National Opera, Berlin Staatsoper, Royal Swedish Opera, Hamburg State Opera, La Monnaie, Paris Opera, Vlaamse Opera, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Salzburg Festival and English National Opera.
