During *each* of its three, 3-week long sessions, up to 12 participants study with our distinguished faculty roster, featuring: star mezzo Jennifer LARMORE, star tenor KS Francisco ARAIZA, world-renowned collaborative pianists Roger VIGNOLES, Julius DRAKE, and Gerald M. MOORE (vocal coach and recital partner of Renée Fleming), star mezzo Julia HAMARI, renowned Wagnerian soprano Petra LANG, tenor Carlos MONTANÉ, pianist, harpsichordist and conductor Jory VINIKOUR (recital partner of Rolando Villazón, Magdalena Kozena, etc.), pianist Mark Markham (recital partner of Jessye Norman), baritone Davide DAMIANI, pianist Greta BENINI and pianist Ed BAK amongst many others.
We are the first and only program in Europe to focus *exclusively* on the art song genre, and to encompass a wide range of repertoires, i. e. German Lied, French mélodie, Italian, Spanish, American and English art song.
The Sankt Goar International Festival and Academy was founded with the aim of creating an exceptional venue for the study and the promotion of classical music in general -and the art song genre in particular- in an ideally located yet remarkably peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful setting, offering world-class instruction and performance opportunities to a select number of participants, first rate facilities and an enjoyable work and study environment for both teachers and students. We are located in the heart of the Rhine Gorge Valley -a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Tuition (€3150 for singers and €2750 for pianists) includes a total of 24 individual, 45-minute lessons (more than most programs), daily German and diction classes, participation in 2 public master classes, performing opportunities and accommodation (shared double bedrooms) in a beautiful 1892 Gründerzeit villa (listed as national monument) on the bank of the Rhine river. Students also receive half-board (breakfast and lunch, from MondaythroughFriday.
Alternatively, students can also opt for a more affordable 2 week option, which include 16 individual, 45-minute lessons, daily German and diction classes, 2 public master classes, and accommodation and half-board. In this case, the prices are €2,310 for singers and €2,010 for pianists. However, only a few 2-week spots are available.

Finally, as we are a self-funded, non-profit institution, unfortunately all of our limited financial aid was already allocated to participants who applied prior to our original application deadline. Therefore, please make sure that you have the necessary funds to cover tuition and expenses before applying, as neither the application fee nor any subsequent payments are refundable under any circumstance.
