DEADLINE EXTENDED for Opera Saratoga 2018 Young Artist Program featuring role opportunities in 4 operas.
Opera Saratoga has extended the deadline for applications to its 2018 Young Artist Program until Friday September 15th. Auditions take place in Houston, Cincinnati, Phoenix and New York City. The 2018 Summer Festival includes 4 operas: THE MERRY WIDOW (Lehár/Leon&Stein); THE CONSUL (Menotti); ROCKING HORSE WINNER (Williams/Chatterton); and VINKENSPORT, or THE FINCH OPERA (Little/Vavrek). Significant role opportunities for young artists, including sining and covering principal and supporting roles in all productions, as well as concert performances, master classes and professional development opportunities.
2018 SEASON INFORMATION
Three main stage productions of four operas will be presented during the summer of 2018:
> THE MERRY WIDOW (Lehár/Leon & Stein)): Director & Choreographer - John de los Santos; Conductor - Anthony Barrese
> THE CONSUL (Menotti): Director - Lawrence Edelson; Conductor - Andrew Bisantz
> DOUBLE BILL - ROCKING HORSE WINNER (Williams/Chatteron) and VINKENSPORT (Little/Vavrek): Director - Michael Hidetoshi Mori; Conductor - Lidiya Yankovskaya
Members of the young artist program will cover all roles in all four operas, and will also be cast in the following roles:
