The Miami Wagner Institute
Miami, FL USA
Type: Training Program
Age limit: none (minimum age 24)
Deadline: December 7, 2015
The Miami Music Festival (MMF) announces the creation of The Miami Wagner Institute–an elite tuition-free program led by Metropolitan Opera soprano Christine Goerke, and preeminent Wagner specialist Kathleen Kelly for dramatic/lyrics in transition age 24-40.. Held during the summer, The Miami Wagner Institute aims to provide much-needed training and professional-level performance opportunities for the unique demands of a Wagnerian singer. Singers chosen to participate will receive voice lessons, coachings, master classes and seminars.
The Miami Wagner Institute will accept only a small select group of singers in order to provide ample one-on-one attention between faculty and singers, a customized curriculum for each singer, as well as personalized performance opportunities–including the opportunity to perform in concert alongside the MMF Symphony Orchestra at Miami Beach's prestigious New World Center.
Singers admitted will already have a firm working knowledge of the dramatic repertoire or be in the process of transitioning from the Lyric to Wagnerian repertoire. As a subset of the Professional Division, singers accepted into this program attend tuition-free with coverage for on-campus housing.
Singers who do not meet these requirements should apply to the MMF apprentice or studio programs.
