Deadline approaching! $75K+ in prizes: The Lotte Lenya Competition 2017

The 20th Lotte Lenya Competition is fast approaching, and it promises to be the competition's biggest year yet! Prize amounts have been increased to $20,000 for 1st Prize, $15,000 for 2nd Prize, and $10,000 for 3rd Prize. Total prizes will exceed $75,000.

Newly established for 2017, the Kurt Weill Award ($5,000), may be given for outstanding performances of two contrasting selections by Kurt Weill. More than a vocal competition, the Lotte Lenya Competition recognizes talented young singer/actors who are dramatically and musically convincing in repertoire ranging from opera/operetta to contemporary Broadway scores, with a focus on the works of Kurt Weill.
