Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Houston's Scholarship Competitions: deadline December 16!
Two opportunities, one for young artists and one just for undergraduates, from Houston's oldest opera company:
- The Vocal Career Grant Competition will take place in Houston on January 29, 2023, where ten finalisits will vie for a 1st Prize of $2,500, 2nd Prize of $1,500, and 3rd Prize of $750, as well as a voted Audience Favorite Prize of $500. Judges are Grammy Award winner Sasha Cooke, Houston Grand Opera's Director of Artistic Operations and Chorus Master Richard Bado, and Theater Under the Stars' Associate Assistant Director Monique Midgette.
- Undergraduate students are invited to apply to our Scholarship Program, with two recipients - $1,000 and $500 - being paid directly to the winner's school in their name.
