Deadline Extended to 1/7: Finger Lakes Opera 2019

Called “the highlight of the summer music scene” by City Newspaper, Finger Lakes Opera is now accepting applications for our Young Artist Program for the summer of 2019.  Finger Lakes Opera Young Artist training program is intended for singers who demonstrate outstanding potential and who are seeking professional level training and performance experience.  

The daily schedule for our young artists will include coachings, scenes work, masterclasses, and movement class.  You will work alongside other young artists as well as the professional directors, choreographers, artists, and coaches of Finger Lakes Opera.  Performance opportunities will include two performances of our opera scenes program, a children’s opera performance, and a concert entitled “Opera HITS!” with the FLO Orchestra featuring arias, duets and Broadway favorites.  In addition, FLO Young Artists will be cast as comprimario and cover roles in our main stage opera performance of La Bohéme. 

We will be holding live auditions in NYC and in Rochester, NY., and there is also an option to audition by recording.  The program cost includes housing, a travel stipend.  Scholarships are available.  The deadline for accepting applications is December 17.
