Festival Lyrique-en-mer 2025: deadline April 21, 2025!

 

The Young Artists Program provides a comprehensive and immersive experience under the artistic direction of David Jackson, supported by a team of directors, singers, and musicians.

Participants engage in various enriching activities, including:

  • Participation in the festival choir: Integration into a fully staged production of LA TRAVIATA by Verdi and a participatory "Come Sing" concert featuring CARMEN by Bizet. Collaboration with the festival choir to perform works like MISATANGO by Martin Palmeri and SOUNDS AND SWEET AIRS by Paul Mealor.
  • MASTERCLASSES: Exclusive sessions offering personalized feedback on interpretation, technical advice, and professional guidance.
  • LYRIC APÉRITIFS: Participation in intimate and convivial recitals.
  • Role Opportunities: The chance to perform roles in CARMEN by Bizet or small roles in the production of LA TRAVIATA by Verdi.

This program enables young artists to collaborate with renowned professionals and gain valuable stage experience in a supportive environment.

A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE
For over 20 years, the Young Artists Program has trained talents now performing on prestigious stages such as the Paris Opera, Berlin State Opera, Covent Garden, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Others have pursued studies at renowned institutions like Indiana University, the Manhattan School of Music, and McGill University. Alumni have also distinguished themselves in international competitions, such as the Metropolitan Opera National Auditions, reflecting the program's ongoing success.

ELIGIBILITY
Participation is open to students of opera singing. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to opera and a strong desire to develop their skills in an intensive festival setting.

HOW TO APPLY
Applicants must submit the following:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV): An updated résumé highlighting your musical and academic achievements.
  • Video Recordings: Two recent videos performing two arias in different styles.
  • Motivation Letter: A short letter explaining what you hope to gain from the program and how you can contribute to the festival.
