Harold Haugh Light Opera Vocal Competition: deadline February 15!

The 2025 Harold Haugh Light Opera Vocal Contest has no top age limit. It is open to all singers who are not professionally represented (under management) and who have not worked full-time as a professional singer. The competition is intended to help singers utilize the variety of music produced by the composers of Light Opera. The ability to entertain goes beyond a good voice. Appearance, personality and acting ability are critical on making an impression, and all of these are important in Light Opera, which features many "showstoppers." Singers will be asked to sing a Light Opera selection, and also a technical number, displaying their vocal ability. Beyond the nine cash awards, every entrant will receive critiques from the judging panel. Singers have remarked on the lightheartedness of previous panels, but the judges are very serious in giving singers the advice they need in creating a successful career.
