A cost-free fellowship for five singers and five pianists in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Join Cincinnati Song Initiative for a week-long program that provides song lovers with an inspiring, open, and deeply enriching environment to express themselves and grow in their artistry. The Fellowship of the Song aims to promote and innovate the song genre by empowering the next generation of twenty-first century artists who will carry the mantle of song in the United States and throughout the world.
Program Highlights
-Two public concerts, with each Fellow performing a different set or song cycle each evening
-Six total private coachings with Fellowship Coaches Margo Garrett and William McGraw
-Multiple performances in public song workshops led by Margo Garrett through the week
-Daily classes and discussion on a variety of contemporary and relevant topics
-Opportunities for private consultations with CSI staff members and Fellowship faculty for brainstorming, sharing ideas, or seeking advice on topics of your choosing
-World class faculty: Margo Garrett, William McGraw, Tom Cipullo, Lori Laitman, LaToya Lain, Shawn Okpebholo, Toni Marie Palmertree, Ellen Rissinger, Casey Robards, Laura Strickling
-Housing in single-room luxury apartments
-A daily stipend for food and fun
-Travel reimbursement up to $500
At the Fellowship of the Song, we all have something to learn from each other. That’s why, as a Fellow, you have the opportunity to come to Cincinnati and work with our faculty (highly distinguished artists and scholars in the song world for a week of rewarding study where everyone leaves inspired and having learned something new from one another. We are looking for Fellows who are enthusiastic communicators excited by the collaborative process and interested in developing their passion for song in a supportive and artistically rigorous environment.
