Cascais Opera International Vocal Competition: deadline approaching!

Applications are closing soon for the Cascais Opera International Vocal Competition, for opera singers aged 18 to 32. In addition to international performance opportunities, participants stand to win from a substantial €30.000 prize pool. Following the initial online phase with the submission of two arias, selected candidates will perform live in Cascais, Portugal, in April 2024. They will gain access to masterclasses, jury feedback and partial travel and stay reimbursement for finalists.

Application deadline: 31st December 2023

Application materials: CV, colour photo, repertoire list, 2 videos of different arias. 

Audition Requirements

age between 18-32

First Round Repertoire (uploaded video): Two Arias (maximum 10 minutes, both), one of the Arias must be Bach or Handel or Mozart.

Semi-finals Repertoire (live): Two arias and a Song. Repertoire must be different from the First Round. Arias and Song must be composed in the 19th or 20th centuries.

The arias must be performed in the original language and original key. The arias must be sung by memory and in the sequence specified by the competitor.
