Deadlines extended: Canto Vocal Programs 2023 2

Canto is extending the application deadline for the Louisville and the Northern Virginia programs until February 28. In addition to a staged production of "The Tales of Hoffmann" for Louisville, we will be presenting an evening of Offenbach operetta and other opera scenes. Canto will also present its traditional concert at Louisville's Speed Museum.

The 2-week program in Northern Virginia ends with a gala accompanied by an orchestral ensemble. In both programs singers will work daily with Canto's international faculty from the Metropolitan Opera, Les Maîtres Sonneurs and Boston Conservatory. Since 2015 Canto has helped hundreds of singers from all over the world take the next step in their careers. In addition to programs in Europe, Canto is offering two programs in the US for the summer of 2023.

Canto Louisville:  Focus on preparation and performance of a complete role.

Prepare a role with a world class production team of conductor (Lucy Arner), stage director (Sharon Mohar) and coach (Liora Maurer) from the Metropolitan Opera and Les Maîtres Sonneurs (France). Coach and pianist Jean Anderson from Boston Conservatory and NEC will join us once again. Master classes, musical and dramatic coaching, conversation and translation of texts from French opera and song repertoire will also be offered. In addition to the production of "The Tales of Hoffmann" there will be a concert at the Speed Museum, as well as a scenes program.  

Canto Virginia: Polish your repertoire and sing with an orchestral ensemble!

Work on your repertoire from all angles with conductor (Lucy Arner), stage director (Sharon Mohar) and coach (Liora Maurer) from the Metropolitan Opera and Les Maîtres Sonneurs (France) so you will be ready for the next season. The prorgam includes private sessions, group classes and masterclasses culminating with a Gala of arias and ensembles accompanied by an orchetsral ensemble.
