OUR MISSION: To help the next generation of young singers prepare for a professional career in the vocal arts (opera, oratorio, art song and musical theater) by refining the fundamentals of singing: vocal technique, musical style, lyric diction and the art of performing.

DESCRIPTION: Belle Arti Center for the Arts is proud to present the first - Canto de las Americas ™ - A Workshop for Aspiring Artist in the Vocal Arts ™ a workshop for aspiring artists in the vocal arts. Canto de las Americas is an intensive program for ages 18-35 designed to focus on the individual singer and perfecting their current repertoire. Over the course of the program, each singer will work one-on-one with professional artists from internationally acclaimed opera houses (Metropolitan Opera House, etc.) to refine the fundamentals of singing: vocal technique, musical style, lyric diction and the art of performing. The program will culminate with a final performance in Forest Hills.
 
* Attention Pianists who are interested in gaining more experience as a collaborative pianist and accompanist. Pianists will work with our faculty and accompany voice coachings, as well as rehearse with singers and perform in the final performance.

Price: $1,275. The fee covers all training and performance. The fee does not cover housing or food. The program runs from Thursday, August 20- Sunday, August 30, 2015.

Audition Information:
-All singers must prepare at least 3 stylistically contrasting arias, art songs or popular/Broadway songs.
-The first round of live auditions will be held in April 2015 in New York City. Exact dates and location areTBA.
