Camerata Bardi International Academy offers a unique, immersive program that prepares young artists for the demands of a professional stage. Designed for emerging singers, this program provides hands-on experience in a dynamic and often challenging environment.
The program is divided into two stages:
STAGE ONE- LYRIC AND BUSINESS LABORATORY (In-Person and Online)
2025 Updates:
This year, our first production dates will focus on in-person workshops, mock auditions, masterclasses, coaching sessions, and musical rehearsals. Each opera within the program is paired with a specialized curriculum and guided by our International Faculty, composed of elite industry professionals and acclaimed opera singers dedicated to nurturing young talent.
Participants will delve into operatic diction, dramatic interpretation, style, and repertoire. Additionally, our Industry Development Seminars provide essential career insights, covering topics like self-marketing, effective social media strategies, networking, branding, self-filming, financial planning, and professional presentation—all crucial skills for thriving in today’s fast-paced digital world.
STAGE TWO - PERFORMANCES
Young Artists will prepare to perform a fully-staged production. In the 10-15 days leading up to performances, Artists will take part in staging, musical rehearsals, lectures and masterclasses led by stage directors and conductors with recognized expertise and experience in the operatic world. The culmination of stage two will be performances in theaters and festivals in Europe and the US.
Almost all participants have received or are scheduled to receive paid performance opportunities in the 2021-2025 seasons with Teatro Grattacielo and Harrison Friends of the Opera. Between 2021 and 2023, our partners handed out 46 contracts, with two participants securing fest contracts in Europe. This approach helps us promote you, provide valuable performance experience, and offer a chance to earn back part of your tuition. Notable contracts include The 10 Faces of Maria Callas, Teatro Grattacielo's La Vestale at the Gerald Lynch Theater and at Megaron Thessaloniki (Greece), Beyond the Horizon (2024), Opera Columbus, Rossini Opera Festival, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, and Light Opera of NJ. Additionally, three Elixir of Love singers secured representation with major agents after their performances in NYC and Crete in 2024.
All 2025 participants will be under consideration for roles in Teatro Grattacielo's 2025 World Premiere of "The Tin Angel" by Daniel Asia.
