Bologna International Opera Academy (BIOA) 2023: deadline Feb 28!

Bologna International Opera Academy (BIOA) offers two distinct opportunities for the summer of 2023.

BIOA Classic (14 July–30 July) is an intensive, top-rated summer program located in one of the most enchanting and vibrant cities in Italy. In addition to daily master classes, one-on-one coaching from world-renowned opera singers, voice teachers, directors, and coaches, and two recitals at the end of the program, the most distinguished element of the Bologna International Opera Academy is the opportunity for singers to be heard by and signed with opera industry professionals (numerous artists from BIOA have received professional contracts with opera houses and agencies). This unparalleled opportunity, paired with performing in various historic venues in Bologna, greatly benefit every serious singer, assisting them in their journey to complete their training and advance their professional development.

BIOA Opera Theater (4 June–23 June) is an exciting performance program available to highly motivated and talented singers on the verge of their professional careers. It offers in-depth preparation of an operatic role with support from role preparation coaches, a stage director, and a conductor. The program culminates with singers performing their role in a fully staged, professional production with costumes and orchestra in collaboration with State Opera Burgas. This season, BIOA Opera Theater will be presenting Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
