ASPS's Spring Into Art Song Festival 2018 at The Manhattan School of Music in New York

This application closed on Monday April 30, 2018.

In addition to their completed application, singers must submit their audio samples, their $25 Master Application fee PER MASTER CLASS payable through the ASPS website, a bio and/or resume, and a current headshot. Also, if you are applying as a duo and interested in bringing your own pianist if admitted into the master class, we would need to know the name of the pianist. If you intend to use our staff pianist, there is an additional $25 fee due the day of the master class. Application fees are non-refundable. Please note, that the Mark Markham performance duo master class is intended for collaborative partners. Duos are given first preference but we will consider soloist as well for this class and can provide a staff pianist for the additional $25 fee due the day of the class.

Master Class Repertoire

Art Song Selections*

Singers shall submit at least two (2) art songs composed for voice and piano accompaniment on their applications for presentation in a master class setting. All selections should meet the requirements of the master class’ focus or theme (i.e., all submissions for the “Debussy Song” master class must be compositions by the composer Debussy). Singers whose repertoire submissions do not meet the requirements may not be considered for participation. Minimum number of selections permitted: 2. Maximum number of selections permitted: 10

ASPS requires a prescreening recording of two (2) of the song selections from the master class application (please indicate on the application which song will serve as your audio submission). An additional $25 fee is required from anyone wishing to use the ASPS staff pianist due the day of the master class.
