Opera Saratoga Festival Artist Program 2020: Deadline extended to 9/16

Deadline extended until Mon. Sept. 16th! Principal, supporting and cover roles are available for singers, along with fellowships for conductors, pianists, and directors. Artists are featured in 3 fully staged productions: MADAMA BUTTERFLY (Puccini/Giacosa - Director: Izumi Ashizawa; Conductor: Dean Williamson), THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE (Gilbert & Sullivan - Director: Eve Summer; Conductor: Brian DeMaris), and SKY ON SWINGS (Beecher/Moscovitch - Director: Lawrence Edelson; Conductor: Emily Senturia). Soloists for Rossini’s PETITE MESSE SOLENNELLE will also be cast from the program. All artists receive professional development opportunities throughout the summer, and are featured on a variety of concerts and master classes with guest artists.

Launch your career in paradise with PALM BEACH OPERA. The application deadline for our 2021 Benenson Young Artist and Bailey Apprentice Artist Programs is MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9. These 6-month professional residencies offer transformative performing opportunities and intensive training with an outstanding faculty. All artists benefit from regular work with guest coaches Craig Rutenberg and Danielle Orlando; voice teachers Stephen King and Michael Paul; and resident coaches Ben Malensek, Greg Ritchey, Tim Cheung, and Ksenia Leletkina. Benenson Young Artists sing supporting roles and cover lead roles alongside international casts, while Bailey Apprentice Artists cover supporting roles and perform throughout our beautiful community in concerts.

Canto Vocal Programs: New York City November 2019!

Make the most of your autumn season in New York City with Canto Vocal Programs! Our two-week intensive program consists of individual musical & dramatic coachings, master classes, a business of music lecture and an aria showcase for the public. We are happy to have Sarah Fraser (Fletcher Artist Management), Shawn Jeffery (ADA Artists Management) and Guy Barzilay (Guy Barzilay Artists) join us for feedback auditions. They will evaluate your performance, overall presentation, materials and repertoire. Canto offers programs in New York, Toulouse, Zagreb, Bucharest and Louisville. Our faculty includes present and former Metropolitan Opera coaches and international stage directors. Principal faculty: Lucy Arner, Liora Maurer, & Sharon Mohar.

Sarasota Opera (Florida) extends deadline for Winter 2020 Apprentice Artists Program

NO FEE. DEADLINE EXTENDED to September 3. Sarasota Opera announces September 2019 auditions for its Apprentice Artists Program January 4 - March 22, 2020. Opportunity listing and application are now available on YAP Tracker. September auditions take place in New York and Sarasota. Mainstage operas are Puccini’s La bohème, Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet, Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love, and Catalani’s La Wally (all in original languages). Victor DeRenzi is artistic director/principal conductor; Jesse Martins is chorus master/program and music director of the Apprentice Artists. These are paid positions. Housing and transportation provided.

MISSISSIPPI OPERA PRESENTS: THE 2019 JOHN ALEXANDER NATIONAL VOCAL COMPETITION AND CONCERT

MISSISSIPPI OPERA PRESENTS: THE JOHN ALEXANDER NATIONAL VOCAL COMPETITION AND CONCERT. The sixth annual John Alexander National Vocal Competition for opera and musical theatre singers will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi. This competition is presented by the Mississippi Opera in order to identify and recognize outstanding vocal opera and musical theatre talent from all over the United States. The competition is a national level competition for opera and music theatre singers between the ages of 18 to 40.
