A program that looks at the dramatic voice as a whole - and prepares it for the competitive world of classical music ​- through intense training with world-class faculty. Artists will have the opportunity to perform a role in a fully staged production of Strauss Elektra with orchestra and work on German Lieder & Chamber Music repertoire. Train with world class artists: UVAA Summer Opera Festival 2020

The UVAA Summer Opera Festival: Build your performing resume, train with world class artists, and expand your musical network in a gorgeous mountain setting. All roles are open as we double cast Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann (with orchestra), Puccini’s Suor Angelica (with piano), and an opera scenes show, plus multiple recitals, the Death By Aria competition and a full high school program. Our special guest artists this year include superstars Deborah Voigt, Rachel Willis-Sørensen, and Michael Mayes, plus a full staff of coaches, stage directors, and Maestro Nicolas Giusti. Live audition deadline: February 27. Video applications will be accepted until all roles are double cast. No age limit or citizenship requirements.

Festival of International Opera-Italia 2020: deadline March 24

Come to FIO ITALIA! We extended our Opera audition season until March 24th or until we double cast all roles in Verdi's Falstaff, Rossini's La Cenerentola, and Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea. There are also some available positions in our Young Artist and Studio divisions which will present opera scenes and concerts. The Source National Vocal Competition 2020: Apply now!

One of the major events, Annual Vocal Competition, will be hosted by The Source OC in Orange County, CA. Ten (10) aspiring and emerging finalists will compete with an orchestra. The main goal of the competition is to find exceptional musicians and allow them to showcase their unique talents.  Awards: 1st Place: $4,500 |  2nd Place: $3,000 | 3rd Place: $2,000 |  7 Finalist receives $1,000 for each. Sponsored by Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Berklee College of Music's campus in Valencia, this unique program offers talented singers the opportunity to hone their technical skills with world-class faculty, gain valuable performance experience in a variety of settings, learn how to build and maintain a career in opera, and connect with industry professionals.

The 2020 Ensemble OrQuesta Opera Academies (UK): applications open!

Since 2014 Ensemble OrQuesta have run high-quality Opera Academies four times a year in the UK. Under the guidance of multi-skilled professionals led by Marcio da Silva and Stephanie Gurga, young singers benefit from rigorous tuition and training with coaching in technique, language, style, stagecraft, and movement. The programme culminates in two fully staged public performances accompanied by a professional ensemble. Several productions starring EO alumni have grown from these academies, receiving critical acclaim in fringe venues such as the Grimeborn Opera Festival, Arcola Theatre, and The Cockpit. Talented high school singers from across the country who are ready to take the plunge into this two-week immersive experience will enjoy lessons and coachings with esteemed professional artists, master classes with world-renowned performers, and dorm living with like-minded musicians. Located at Miami University of Ohio, the Schmidt Vocal Institute is a program of Schmidt Vocal Arts.  2020 guest faculty include Denyce Graves (Metropolitan Opera/Peabody Institute), J.J. Penna (New England Conservatory/The Juilliard School), and Craig Terry (Lyric Opera of Chicago/Ryan Opera Center), who will also perform with singers in the final concert! Greve Opera Academy 2020: Deadline March 1

A program for singers seeking the opportunity to perform roles in fully staged opera productions with professional orchestra. We focus on providing artistic excellence and the practical professional experience. This year will feature Don Giovanni and other performances in Greve and Florence.
