Casting for a project based on Mozart’s 'Die Zauberflöte' Immerse yourself in the intensive study of the German language and work with world-class faculty on German "Lieder" and our opera project. We will help you get proficient in the language and go through an entire production process in German to help you prepare for working abroad. The Lyndon Woodside Oratorio-Solo Competition: Application deadline February 1, 2025.  Fee $30. Late application deadline February 15, 2025. Fee $60.  Semi-Finals March 29, 2025, NYC. Finals April 5, 2025 at 1:30 pm, Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall.   In 1977 the Oratorio Society of New York inaugurated an annual Solo Competition designed to encourage the art of oratorio singing and to give talented young singers an opportunity to advance their careers. The competition has become international in scope, well-known in the music world, and is the only major competition to focus exclusively on oratorio singing. $22,000 in cash prizes.   Age Limit: 40 years (born after January 1, 1985). Open to singers in the early or emerging phases of their careers.

The Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hennings-Fischer Foundation are pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 24th annual Young Artist Competition. This prestigious competition is open to all instrumentalists (except piano) and all vocalists age 30 or under as of March 8, 2025. Grand prize winners will appear with the Burbank Philharmonic in a regular season concert and receive a cash prize of $1,000 at the time of performance. Recent past winners and finalists include sopranos Angela Meade and Julie Adams and violinists Nigel Armstrong and Aubree Oliverson.
