There is no fee for artists wishing to audition for chorus only, however to be considered for chorus you MUST audition in St. Louis.

Union Avenue Opera only considers local artists for chorus and does not offer housing or travel assistance for chorus members. To be considered for the chorus artist must audition in St. Louis.

Rehearsals for each show begin three weeks prior to opening night. There are additional CHORUS ONLY rehearsals in May/June.

LES CONTES D'HOFFMANN (Offenbach) - performed in French 2020 Performances: July 10, 11, 17, 18. Rehearsals begin June 22, 2020

IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA (Rossini) performed in Italian 2020 Performances: July 31, August 1, 7, 8. Rehearsals begin July 13, 2020 -- No female chorus positions

THE CRADLE WILL ROCK (Blitzstein) 2020 Performances: August 21, 22, 28, 29. Rehearsals begin August 3, 2020

Casting Notes

The role of Rosina in IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA is preferred in the Mezzo key for consideration.

Ideally the following roles in LES CONTES D'HOFFMANN will be performed by the same artist:

- Spalanzani/Andres/Franz/Pittichinaccio

- Stella/Olympia/Antonia/Giulietta

- Lindorf/Coppelius/Dr. Miracle/Dappertutto

Union Avenue Opera only considers LOCAL artists for CHORUS. To be considered for CHORUS you must audition in St. Louis. Chorus positions are paid however housing is not provided for members of the chorus therefore artists must reside in or around STL during the production period and be available for 3-4 chorus rehearsals in late May/early June (TBD).

Payment Instructions

APPROVED applications subject to audition fee (NYC $35; STL $10). There is no fee for artists auditioning for CHORUS ONLY. Fee is to be paid within 5 days of your application being APPROVED. Upon application approval an email will be sent to you with instructions on how to pay. Do not send in payment prior to being granted an audition. All audition fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
