Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the Young Artists Program at the Glimmerglass Festival.
Each YAP coach/accompanist will serve as assistant coach/accompanist for two of the four productions in the 2013 Festival, in addition to preparing and performing with other members of the Young Artists Program in community concerts, cabarets, and other events. They will also have the opportunity to serve as the pianist for lessons given by master teachers, play auditions for members of the Young Artists Program, and mentor with senior members of the music staff. Young Artists will also have the privilege of working with 2013 Artists in Residence, Nathan and Julie Gunn.
Applicants for Glimmerglass Festival's Young Artists Program must be fully available to the company from May 28 through August 24, 2013. Applicants must be United States citizens or have the right to work in the United States. Non-U.S. citizens must send a photocopy of documentary proof of right to work (Note: Canadians may gain the right to work by joining Canadian Federation of Musicians and applying for a P2 Visa. This process is completed after succesfully securing a contract with The Glimmerglass Festival and will be done at your own expense).
2012 Festival
Principal Guest Artists and creative teams have been cast for all 2013 productions. All remaining roles and covers TBD or to be assigned to members of the 2013 YAP. Two Young Artist coach/accompanists will be selected, and each will serve as an assistant coach for two productions.
