Painted Sky Opera Auditions for 2020-21 Season

Announcing auditions for all roles and chorus for Painted Sky Opera's 2020-21 season.

Painted Sky Opera's 2020-21 season will include:

DON GIOVANNI, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (September 2020)
AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS, Gian Carlo Menotti (December 2020)
PAGLIACCI, Ruggero Leoncavallo (May 2021)

Auditions: we will select an audition date when we know more about restrictions due to the pandemic

Video Auditions will also be accepted.

To apply: Please fill out all information and attach a resume and headshot to your application. If you choose to audition by video, please attach your video files to the application.

Application fee: $20. The entire fee will be refunded to those who audition in Oklahoma City as well as anyone who requests a live audition but does not receive one. A pianist is provided free of charge to those auditioning live in Oklahoma City. The application fee will not be refunded for video submissions and no-shows.

Repertoire requirements: 1 aria in Italian, 1 aria in English, and 1 aria of your choice

As of this posting, no roles have been cast in any of these three operas. Applicants should be aware that AMAHL will be cast with singers local to the central Oklahoma area. We are auditioning for principal and secondary roles as well as chorus in all three operas. We will also be casting from these auditions for other local performances as they arise as well as our roster for in-school educational programs.

Chorus Auditions: Central Oklahoma residents who wish to audition for chorus only should sign up for the live auditions and indicate a preferenece for date and time in the application. Applicants for the chorus may substitute non-operatic repertoire for the requested arias as long as it emphasizes classical vocal quality and musicality. We strongly advise singing something in Italian as a part of the audition. If you need to audition for the chorus by video due to being out of town for the audition, please contact us first at info@paintedskyopera.org.

If you would like to audition live in Oklahoma City, but are unable to pay the $20 fee to reserve an audtiion time, please contact us at info@paintedskyopera.org.

If you would like to audition live in Oklahoma City, but will not be available during the audition dates, please indicate it on your application. We will do our best to schedule auditions for those who need a different date, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to hear you and may request videos instead.
