If accepted into the competition, will you bring your own pianist? MCNY will publish a list of suggested pianists in the NYC area. Contestants will be responsible for contacting, coordinating, and compensating pianists. Contestants who advance to the semi final round will receive a list of these pianists with their contact information and information on a pre negotiated rate.

Program of Repertoire*

A program of repertoire (including timings) to be performed. We suggest submitting a varied program of 25-30 minutes of music. During the Semi Final round, jury will select excerpts of repertoire from the submitted program. If advanced to the Final Round, you will perform a 20-25 minute program of repertoire from the submitted program. You may use repertoire which you included in your prescreen submission. Your program should be varied and should include repertoire in at least two different languages. Including, but not limited to: English, Italian, French, German. At least one selection in your program must be composed after 1950.

Your program can consist of art songs, recital repertoire, opera arias, contemporary music. Adventurous programming is encouraged, and any questions or requests regarding repertoire should be directed to bkennedy@musiciansclubofny.org. Number of documents required: 1.
