2016 Prelude to Performance Application

The Martina Arroyo Foundation's Prelude to Performance young artist program will be held in New York City from June 1 to July 12, 2016. Prelude is Tuition-Free and is now offering stipends from $3000 for major roles and $2500 for major covers; $1500/$750 for smaller roles and covers.
The operas for this summer are Puccini's, La Bohème and Strauss's, Die Fledermaus, fully staged/costumed with orchestra at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College. For those auditioning for Mimi present "Mi chiamano Mimi"; Musetta, "Quando m'en vo"; Rodolfo - "Che gelida manina"; Schaunard - "Entrance 'aria'", Colline - "Vecchia zimarra"; For Rosalinda - "Csardas"; Adele - "Audition Aria"; Orlofsky - "Ich lade gern mir Gäste ein"; Alfred - Opening Act 1; Eisenstein - "The Watch Duet"; Falke - "Komm' mit mir zum Souper". For other roles please present an aria in the language and style that represents all aspects of the role. Prepare dialogue excerpt of chosen role from Die Fledermaus in German. Be prepared to present a total of 4 arias.

We do accept audio/video auditions in cases where there is either scheduling problems or financial hardship. Please submit good quality video/audio URL( You Tube). MP3 files are also permitted. Do not alter the sound on either the audio or video!
