Houston Grand Opera (HGOco) Opera to Go! Auditions (2018-19)

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Houston Grand Opera's Opera to Go!

Auditions will be Saturday, May 5 & Sunday, May 6 (concurrent with auditions for HGO Chorus).

Our season features two productions: September 5 - December 15, 2018 & January 7 - May 17, 2019.

We present high-energy operas at schools, libraries, and community centers in fully-staged, 45-minute performances. The Fall semester tour of Cinderella in Spain will feature five singers (Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano, Tenor, Baritone, and Bass-Baritone) and the Spring semester tour of The Elixir of Love will feature 4 singers (Soprano, Tenor, Baritone, & Baritone/Bass). Performances of CIS are sung in English and Spanish. Performances of Elixir are sung in English. Opera to Go! is designed especially for today's audiences throughout the Houston area, including some overnight touring to surrounding areas in Texas. We are eager to cast singers that reflect the diverse communities of Houston.

Not all applicants are guaranteed an audition and all auditions must be done live in Houston. If an audition is granted, the time slots will be self-selected by auditionee.

We will also be listening for potential participants in our other HGOco programing.
